Lesson Plan Ideas
- Students create a business to be located
along the Nile River. Part of the lesson would include a flyer,
designed by students, which would be displayed in a local Egyptian
market. Students could also design a business card with appropriate
logo. Students would also include a one-page description of their
business and its utilization of the Nile.
- Ankh
- Students design a cartouche using hieroglyphics.
- Create a timeline of Pharaohs studied
during unit.
- Make a map of Ancient Egypt.
- Based on what students observe in King
Tut's tomb, have them either illustrate or describe what they
would like buried with them in their tomb.
- Compare and contrast a day in the life
of a typical Ancient Egyptian teenager with that of a modern
American teenager.
- Have students draw a cross section of
a pyramid showing the burial chamber, store rooms and false entrances,
etc. and describe each.
- Construct a model of a pyramid keeping
in mind it's alignment to the cardinal points (N,S,E,W), position
of funerary temple, entrances, and location of various chambers.
