Movie: Highest Level of Technology
I made this movie using the slides from the PowerPoint presentation. I used Windows Movie Maker 2. The advantage of this is that I used both sound and voice-over which as far as I can tell, you’re not supposed to be able to do with Movie Maker. The trick is to have the computer thinking about something else while you do it (just kidding). However, if you want to know how to do it, email me and I’ll try to describe it.

As with all computer projects, it took incredible amounts of time (getting the music, transferring the slides from PowerPoint to Paint to the movie, making the sound work with the microphone, putting in transitions, etc., etc., etc.). However, the effect on students is absolutely stunning! One student in the Vergil AP course told me that she now finally understands the tenses (what has she been doing all this time? I shudder to think about it.). They laughed at the music, which they all recognized (more or less) and loved to see how the centaurs came on and moved. Try it out with your classes!
Learning Style: all students really enjoyed this. The motion is good for the kinetic learners; the non-linear and non-sequential learners still understood it, and the music helps the auditory learners.
