Task
Each one of you will be assigned one
of the imperial figures from the Home page to study. Throughout the year, you will work on a variety of projects, becoming an "expert" on your figure, expanding you knowledge of the history of the Roman Empire, and learning and practicing some useful research and technology skills. On the Home page are the celebrities of the ancient world, all somehow connected to Rome.
Project 1 --Due Friday, January 5: Researched Power Point Presentation
Project 2 --Due Thursday, April 12: Web site
Project 3 --Due Wednesday, May 16: Creative Writing
You will be responsible for your own character and four others of your choice on the final exam, so pay attention to others' work and check out our web site often.
Part II: The Lifestyles
Two of you each week will be responsible for researching small topics about life in ancient Rome. Many of these will be seen as we read the historical murder mystery Ides of April by Mary Ray. These presentations may be in any form you choose, and should be considered informal. They should be brief and to the point. You should have visual resources whenever possible. Ultimately, you will be adding your research to the web site so that everyone will be able to access it, so you must digitize your pictures and word process your research. You will all use this research as background information to complete your final writing project on your imperial figure.
