Students will then 'think-pair-share' to begin a discussion of what the scene represents.
Students will be given 'suggested questions' to prepare for the museum visit.
Homework:
Student must bring in 3 newspaper ads and write a brief paragraph about Greek/Roman Mythology in the ads (i.e Nike, Mercury, etc.)
Long Term Planning:
- discuss word derivations from the myth
- compare/contrast the elements of mythology in the passages and apply to the selected art work
- class discussion will follow comparing different media and different approaches to conceptualization of the scenes and their effectiveness. Students should select their favorites and justify that preferences.
