Looking to the Future
As we look to the future, we plan to continue
(1) multicultural offerings since we’ve had great positive feedback that many of these activities fit perfectly and conveniently into school-wide multicultural celebrations as well as being useful for the exam.
(2) activities for all levels since the exam spans early elementary through early high school.
(3) material that relates directly to the myth exam as well enrichment
(4) revision of the Hercules and Ancient Beginnings packets
(5) and activities that can be adapted theme to theme such as this Theseus activity which can be adapted to any of the heroes.
In the very near future, what you can expect for middle-level students in the Jason and the Argonauts packet is a study of the four women who are highlighted in the 2002 exam selections and ten other women who appear in ancient literature, primarily Greek drama. Activities include synthesizing information in a five-paragraph essay, research on and discussion of the status of women from antiquity until the present, compare/contrast questions, and puzzles.
