The below exercise uses lines from the first half of Vergil's Aeneid, Book II as examples of figures of syntax in Vergil's text.

Directions: First, match the definitions below with a term from the "Syntax" column. Enter the corresponding letter in the "Definition" column. Then, translate each line of Latin text below to determine what figure of syntax is used in each line. Enter the corresponding line number in the "Corresponding Line Number" column. See the example below.
