This was the place of worship where Romans went to observe the rituals associated with their gods and look for guidance and assistance. In general, each city would have a particular deity that was associated with it, and the city would have a temple to this particular deity. In exchange for the sacrifices of the citizens, that god would watch over the city and provided his or her blessings. |
