Word Searches in Vergil's Aeneid

1. Go to the Perseus web site, http://www.perseus.tufts.edu.

2. Click on the "Texts" button on the home page.

3. Click on the "Latin Texts and English translations" icon.

4. Click on "Vergil" in the list of authors.

5. Click on Aeneid in "Latin."

6. Click on "Book 1."

7. Go to line 4 and click on "saevae." The "Morphological Analysis" window should appear.

8. Click on "67" under Max. Inst. The Latin "Word Search" screen should appear.

How many times in Books 1-6 is the word "saevus" (or any form of it) used? _____________________

9. Near the top of the "Word Search" page, select "Ovid" from the menu next to the "Redo" button.

10. Then click "Redo."
