Ancient China

Confucianism

by Robert and Sam

Here are three facts about Confucius. First, he believed that people should respect the king. We have people bowing down to their king to show this. Next, Confucius thought that people should respect each other. We show this with two hands touching each other. Finally, the main idea of Confucianism was Jen, or people in harmony. We made a Jen sign to show this. Those are three facts about Confucius.

by Abby and Emily

Confucius was an interesting philosopher for these three reasons. To begin with, he believed in Jen which meant people living in harmony. Next, he believed that every person should be treated with sincerity, loyalty and mutual respect. Finally, he believed that having a relationship with another person was very important. We show all this in our banner by drwing the sign of Jen and the five basic relationships. We also drew a golden heart to represent loyalty.

My banner shows three things about Confucianism. First, Confucianists believed that family and relationships were important. The Christmas tree that I drew with people around it shows this. Second, I drew the Jen symbol to show people in harmony. Confucius said that people should live in peace. The last picture I drew was two people holding hands. This shows mutual respect. Confucianism is all about people caring about each other and living in peace.
