Ancient Egypt
Egyptian
Dictionaries Project
We created illustrated dictionaries containing
15 words that are important to know when studying ancient Egypt.
Each word has its own page and contains an illustration and a
definition.
- Each page of your dictionary will be one
8 1/2 X 11 sheet of unlined paper. A one inch border should be
drawn around the edge of the paper. This should be filled in
with a design using at least three colors.
- Lightly pencil a line 2 1/2 inches from
the top of the page. One this line, boldly print the Egyptian
word in large letters. Erase the guide line when you are done.
- Lightly draw a line 3 inches from the
bottom of the page. The space between this line and the border
is where you should print the definition. Correct spelling and
punctuation are necessary!
- In the center space of the page, draw
and color an illustration of the word. The drawing must be large
enough to fill most of the space.
Design a cover for your dictionary. It must be on paper heavier
than regular writing paper. (construction paper, tag board) The
cover must have a title, and an illustration. In the lower left
hand corner, neatly print your first and last name.
- Arrange the pages in alphabetical order.
Bind the cover and the pages.
