Chapter 2, Drill c: Vocabulary: words and phrases

Each Latin sentence contains an English word or phrase in parentheses. Give the Latin word or phrase that best translates the English word or phrase. Words or phrases in square brackets [ ] are needed in English but not in Latin, so don't worry about translating them.

Example
Horatia in casa (does not work).
Answer: non laborat.

Type the answers in the boxes beside the Latin sentence.

1. Horatia aquam (is carrying).
2. Scintilla ([her] daughter) laudat.
3. puella aquam (but not) cenam portat.
4. (the girl) cenam parat.
5. puellam (into the road) ambulat.
6. (the daughter) in casam festinat.
